Game boards are a great way of connecting with the family. It seems these days the television is on, and families often go their own separate ways. These antique games can be fun for just and for your kids. Get a glass of wine, and play outside on the patio for a night of good conversation.

Depending on the age of the board, some of the antique wooden board games can be as expensive as 5K. You can find some fabulous antique game boards on ebay for as little as $20, including Pachisi, Backgammon, Bulls-eye.

Country Living Magazine had an interesting article of a talented woman who makes her own antique game boards from designs of 18th and 19th century wooden game boards. Diane Allison was originally was a quilter at heart but came across the game boards and was attracted to the geometrical patterns that originally attracted her to quilting.
